Delta Greenery Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 October 2026.

This policy describes how the Delta Greenery website at berlinia.github.io/deltagreenery/, maintained by the Delta Greenery project, handles information when you edit documents or optionally connect your Google Drive.

Browser-based editing

Delta Greenery has no application backend or document database. Document text, titles, descriptions, custom CSS, snippets, theme choices and editing preferences are processed in your browser. Drafts and preferences are stored on your device in browser storage so you can resume editing. The application does not upload these drafts to the site operator or GitHub Pages.

You can use the editor, import or download Markdown, and print without connecting a Google account. Downloaded Markdown and PDF files are saved using your browser and device.

Google account and Drive information

When you choose Connect Google Drive and authorize access, the application receives a short-lived OAuth access token. It requests your Drive account's display name, email address and permission ID to show which account is connected and avoid updating a file in the wrong account. Your Google password is handled by Google and is never received by Delta Greenery.

The application requests only the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file permission. This limits file access to files created by the application or otherwise explicitly made available to it; it does not grant access to your entire Drive. The current Open from Drive feature lists files saved by this application.

For Drive documents, the application processes file names, file IDs, modification times, trash status, version information and Markdown content. It uses this information only to list, open, create and update your documents, identify the correct file, and detect changes made elsewhere. A saved Markdown file includes document metadata, CSS and snippets. Files also carry application and draft identifiers to support listing and matching.

Where data goes and how it is used

Drive requests go directly between your browser and Google's APIs over HTTPS. Saving to Drive is an explicit action. Files are created in the Google account you choose, and the application does not make them public or change sharing permissions. The site operator does not receive or keep copies of your Drive documents or access tokens.

Delta Greenery does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising or profiling, or use it to train AI models. It does not send Google user data to analytics providers or permit the operator to read your documents through an application server. We use Google user data solely to provide the document features you request.

Delta Greenery's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements, and the applicable Google Workspace API user data policy.

Storage, retention and protection

Access tokens and the connected account's profile information are held in application memory, not saved in browser drafts. Disconnecting or reloading clears that application session; tokens also expire. The application does not store a refresh token.

Browser drafts retain their contents and, for linked Drive files, the file ID, Drive account permission ID, modification time and version information. These remain until you remove the draft or clear the site's browser data. Clearing browser data may also remove preferences and drafts belonging to other pages on the same website origin. Local storage is not encrypted by Delta Greenery and can be accessed by people or software with access to your browser profile.

Drive copies remain in your Google account until you delete them there, subject to Google's retention and trash policies. Files you download remain on your device until you remove them. The site operator cannot recover or remotely delete copies stored in your browser, device or Drive.

Your controls and deletion

Optional visitor analytics

When configured, Google Analytics 4 helps the maintainer understand visitor counts and use of this website. The Analytics script loads only after you choose Allow analytics. Declining does not affect editing, downloads, printing or Google Drive. You can change your choice through Analytics preferences in the site toolbar.

With your permission, Google processes visit and session information, browser and device information, and network request information such as your IP address. Analytics cookies distinguish visits. The maintainer can view reports in Google Analytics. Advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled. Our page-view configuration uses a fixed site title and URL without query strings or fragments, and omits the referring URL. We do not intentionally send document content, document names, Google Drive account details, file identifiers or access tokens to Analytics.

Your choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days. Analytics cookies are configured to last up to 180 days. Declining later disables further collection by the tag and removes this site's analytics cookies; it does not delete data already processed by Google. The Analytics property's retention settings govern retained analytics data. Clearing browser storage resets your choice but may also delete local drafts, so export those first if you decide to clear it. Google processes analytics data under its privacy policy.

Hosting and other providers

GitHub Pages serves the website and may process request information such as IP addresses and browser details under the GitHub privacy statement. The application does not add advertising cookies. Optional analytics is described below.

The site loads Google's authorization library and a Google Fonts stylesheet, which can contact Google even before you connect Drive. Google's services may process request information and use their own cookies under the Google privacy policy. Images, fonts or other external resources referenced by your document or an inserted snippet are fetched from their respective providers, who may receive your IP address and request details. These providers control their own data practices.

Contact and policy changes

For questions about this policy or help with data removal, contact the maintainer through the Delta Greenery project issue tracker. Issues are public: do not include private documents, Google credentials or access tokens. The operator cannot delete data held exclusively on your device or in your Google account; the controls above let you remove those copies directly.

Changes to this policy will be posted on this page with an updated date. Additional Google permissions, if ever needed, will require a new authorization request.
